Description         Create a space with a Japanese mood by simply placing your unit tatami mats on the floor. The mat surface material is made from Japanese (Kyushu)-grown rush grass. Each strand of rush grass is thick, with a thick surface skin and fine fibers, resulting in outstanding elasticity and durability. Rush grass is a natural air purifier and humidity regulator. It does not soil easily and will turn a golden color with use, giving it character. The core material is a 7 mm-thick urethane chip and 15 mm-thick hard cotton padding that gives the mats a lovely plumpness. Distinctive for its resilience and for holding its shape, urethane chip is used widely as a cushioning material. It has a springy softness and moderate elasticity. The hard cotton padding is processed with Aomori hiba cypress. The cypress contains hinokitiol, a natural substance with exceptionally strong anti-bacterial properties (antibacterial and deodorizing effects). The mats are also a lightweight type for easy carrying, installation, and packing away. Using the connector joints, it is easy to join any number of mats together to the suit the size or shape of the room. -Caution in use *The color of the edges may look different from the color of the center, but this is not mean that the product is defective. The difference in color is not caused by color fading or exposure to sunlight. It is due to the natural characteristics of rush grass. *The connecting fitting is made of soft material, but please note that there is a possibility that you will damage the floor if you rub the parts to joint against the floor.
