The assembled homopolar motor is a basic machine that investigates the process of converting electrical energy into kinetic energy through electromagnetism. When the electrical current provided by the batteries flow through a conductor (in this case, the coiled insulated copper wire), a magnetic effect is produced and this magnetic effect interacts with the magnetic field provided by the permanent magnet to generate a rotational force that in turn rotates the coiled copper wire.
