Custom Painted and Woodburned Arrow of Light Arrow for Cub Scouts Ceremony

Description This custom hand-made decorative arrow will be a keepsake for years to come! It will painted to represent the exact awards your Cub Scout has achieved. Then his/her first name and year can be wood-burned on the end of the arrow, near the point. Some of the photos of finished arrows will show slightly different materials as my supplies have changed over the years. Here’s what I currently use: The Arrow is made of solid wood, around 2 feet in length. The stripes are hand-painted with Acrylic Paint, which won’t peel off in years to come like stickers or thread. The tip is a beautiful stone agate replica of a Native American arrowhead around 1.5″ to 2.5″. The colors vary, so let me know if you have a specific color preference! Two fletches are made from a turkey feather around 4″ to 5″ in length. Using only two fletches makes a “flatter” arrow, which allows for easier display. The arrowhead and fletches are glued in place for security, but then also wrapped in artificial deer sinew for a more historic appearance. You MUST fill out the form and send me an in-focus scan or photo of it, so I know how to paint the arrow: Print the form here  Each scout’s arrow will be painted with approximately 1/4 inch stripes as shown (See photos for examples) in the order indicated on the form you fill out. If the scout did not earn the achievement/award, I will not leave a blank. Instead, I’ll move on to the next achievement/award they did earn. Therefore, some arrows will have more of the shaft painted than others (see photos for examples). If you have a special award request please let me know and I will let you know if I can accommodate your request. *This is a decorative arrow- not a toy or a functional arrow!* Variations Available: Stripes and Name: The colored stripes will be painted on the shaft and the first name/year will be wood-burned onto the shaft of the arrow. Stripes Only: The stripes will be painted on the shaft of the arrow as indicated by the completed form (NO name or year will be on the arrow) Name Only: The first name/year you provide will be wood-burned onto an arrow (NO stripes will be on the arrow) ***Each arrow has room for 40 stripes with no name/date. To calculate the space available, assume each stripe takes as much room as 2 characters of the wood-burned words. (ie “Jeff 2026” is 8 characters. 8/2=4.  40-4=36. There’s room for 36 stripes.) ***I’m happy to wood-burn extra words (beyond first name and year) on the arrow for $1 per character. Woodburned Words- Extra Characters When will this artwork be completed? Commission Schedule I make the blank arrows in batches, so my inventory reflects the number of blanks I have ready to paint. If my inventory is low it will be a few months before I have another batch of blanks ready. Since most crossovers happen in March and April, I tend to make a big batch in November – December, post them for sale Jan 1st, and then run out of stock in mid-February. If you are confident you’d like a custom arrow but don’t know which awards your son or daughter will earn yet, feel free to purchase the arrow now (before I run out) and let me know you’ll be sending the form in later. Send me the form as soon as you know and then plan on receiving your arrow around 1 month after you’ve sent me the award chart (unless we’ve emailed back and forth and agreed on a different timeline). Shipping I often upcycle and reuse clean shipping materials. I will ship you the arrow(s) in a box, protected in packing materials.
