Description Unique and elegant handmade sterling silver prehnite gemstone pendant. Prehnite is typically a light green colour gem with black inclusions within the gemstone which are the mineral epidote. This particular piece made me think of a meadow on a dewy morning; the inclusions are mostly in one section of the gem which I have set at the bottom of the design to echo my vision. Set in a handmade sterling silver setting with a beaded silver loop over the top from which 3 jump rings hang to attach the chain. I offer 18, 20 or 22 inch or an extender option that you can wear at different lengths and you can choose your chain length preference from the drop down menu. I finished the necklace with the addition of 3 silver balls at the bottom of the pendant to echo the pattern at the top. The necklace has been hallmarked at the London Assay Office, this is displayed on the back of the pendant. The stone is rub over set meaning the silver is pushed all the way round the stone making it super secure. The gemstone pendant measures approx 19mm at the widest point and approx 34mm from the bottom of the setting to the top of the jump rings. There is only one of these pendants available and it can be sent in 1-3 business days. Item will come in a gift box as per the last photo. Gemstone and Materials Prehnite gems are a translucent green colour; they often have a hazy look to them and can have inclusions made from the mineral epidote. Prehnite was first discovered in South Africa in 1788. This particular gem is a light green colour with epidote inclusions mainly in one section of the stone; I have set this at the bottom of the pendant as it reminded me of grass on a dewy morning. The stone itself measures 18mm. The gem is set securely in a rubover style setting where the silver edge is pushed right over the gem. Please note however that this gem does slide a little in the setting- you would only notice if you are a necklace fidgeter like me! The pendant itself is handmade in sterling silver and is suspended from an 18 inch belcher style link chain. Aftercare Please take care not to get the gemstone wet and ensure the necklace is removed before bathing or swimming. Please take care not to get products such as hairspray, perfume and cleaning products near your jewellery; they can affect the silver by tarnishing it and could affect any gemstone colours and surface.
