Details DESCRIPTION: Handmadeby Huang Dan, an esteemed Yixing artist in Yixing, this Ming Shi Gong Deng Yixing Zisha teapot–as its name implies–resembles the shape of a palace lantern. Its prototype is a lantern, which was originally designed by/foran old villager in Tuntou village, andlateron becamea tribute to the palace. This teapot is simple, elegant, and old-fashioned in form. The pot has a slightly long body and a very unique spout. Itsnarrow and wide mouth perfectly echoes the body of the teapot; the whole teapot, itself, has aharmonic appeal to all parts, and its overall aestheticembodies the sheer beauty insimplicity and restraint. MATERIAL: Original color Lao Zhu Ni from Huanglongshan mine; at first sight, this particular clay is noteye-catching in its original mud color, though, with proper kiln firing, the clay has the ability to capture the high aromas ofany tea, while adding its own charmduring the process of brewing and seasoning. The clay certainly adds its own refreshing flavor to the tea. CHARACTERISTICS: Huanglongshan aged Lao Zhu Ni vermillion clayfeelssoft, clear, and slightly sandyto the touch. The color of the clay will change to a moderately bright color when humidity is introduced. When filled with hot water, the clay color will transform to an alluringly glossy vermillion red.
