Bhakanje Monsoon Flush Black Tea

Description   Bhakanje Monsoon Flush Black Tea Bhakanje Monsoon Flush is a high-mountain black tea from Nepal, handpicked (2 1 standard) and expertly crafted. Grown at over 2,500 meters, it offers a rich, malty depth complemented by delicate fruity and floral nuances, rounded off with a subtle Himalayan sweetness. The tea comes from smallholder farmers in the village of Bhakanje and is processed in the Bhakanje Tea Factory—a project dedicated to supporting the local community through sustainable tea cultivation.     Bhakanje Tea Project & Factory – Empowering Farmers & Crafting Fine Tea in Nepal The Bhakanje Tea Project, part of the Himalayan Project, provides small-scale farmers in Nepal with a sustainable livelihood through high-altitude tea cultivation. Key figures behind the establishment and development of the project, its factory, and tea gardens include Kurt Lomborg and Janaki Khadka from the Himalayan Project, as well as Pernille Kruse Madsen from the Human Practice Foundation. Their collaboration aims to foster economic growth and prosperity in one of Nepal’s most remote and impoverished regions by enabling farmers to grow and produce their own tea.   Kurt Lomborg and Janaki Khadka of the Himalayan Project are in charge of the project on site   The Bhakanje Tea Factory was founded in 2019 and has since undergone continuous expansion to refine processing techniques and improve infrastructure. This development has been accompanied by a growing network of small tea farmers in and around Bhakanje. Today, the factory processes leaves from multiple smallholders, ensuring that their efforts translate into high-quality teas. By prioritizing natural cultivation methods, the project not only enhances the well-being of local communities but also maintains the highest standards in tea production.   Bhakanje Tea Song and Video – Visualizing and Audiotizing the Magic of Bhakanje A collaboration between the tea farmers of Bhakanje and the Himalayan project has meanwhile yielded a promotional song and video dedicated to Bhakanje tea. Listening to it, it becomes obvious that the resulting “Bhakanje Tea Song” is much more than just another ad soundtrack. Much rather, the song itself is a rare gem of musical art, capturing both the natural sereneness and cultural rootedness of Bhakanje tea in a truly soulful way. At the same time, both dimensions are visualized with unique footage of Bhakanje village and the panoramic highlands surrounding it. As an additional plus, the video depicts the complete artisanal production cycle of Bhakanje tea. And finally, while marveling at the beauty of Bhankanje and watching one of the world’s best black teas come about, the song starts digging deep into your ear and soul, possessing all it takes to become a proverbial earworm. As such, its melody and theme will accompany and soothe you through the further course of your day. But listen and see for yourself!     Each purchase of Bhakanje Tea directly contributes to the economic and social well-being of the farmers, who also hold shares in the company operating the factory. This unique structure allows the Bhakanje Tea Project to preserve local traditions while promoting a sustainable future. Bhakanje Tea Gardens – Among the Highest in the World The Bhakanje tea gardens sit at elevations exceeding 2,500 meters, making them among the highest tea-growing regions in the world. The extreme altitude, pure Himalayan air, mineral-rich soils, and unique climate create ideal conditions for slow-growing tea plants, resulting in an exceptional flavor profile. The untouched natural surroundings impart a distinct character to the tea, making each cup a true reflection of Nepal’s high-mountain terroir. The cultivated tea bushes include traditional Himalayan varieties as well as select Chinese cultivars. This is because both are known for their resilience to alpine conditions and their ability to develop complex aromas. For more insights into the project, its journey, and the farmers behind it, please visit the Bhakanje Tea website: Bhakanje Tea Estate   Bhakanje Monsoon Flush – Handpicked Leaves & Artisan Craftsmanship The Monsoon Flush is crafted from young, tender leaves harvested during July and August. To ensure the highest quality, picking is done entirely by hand according to the 2 1 standard. That is, only one bud and the two youngest adjacent leaves at the tip of each branch qualify for picking. This meticulous selection, combined with expert artisanal processing, highlights the tea’s natural complexity and rich flavor profile. The leaves undergo careful oxidation and rolling, enhancing their bold yet smooth character. The result is a well-balanced infusion with deep malty notes and a hint of Himalayan sweetness.   Preparation Westlern Preparation Amount of tea leaves: 3–4 g per 250 ml water Water temperature: 90–95 °C Infusion period: 3–4 Minuten Number of infusions: 2–3   Gongfu Preparation Amount of tea leaves: 5–6 g pro 100 ml Wasser Water temperature: 90–95 °C Infusion period: 15–30 Sekunden for the 1st steep, slowly increasing Number of infusions: 5–7     For more teas from Nepal @ Siam Tea Shop, please follow the link below: Tea from Nepal   Related
